Dental Bridges

A Dental Bridge is an affordable and easy method of bridging the gap left by a missing tooth. Dental bridges are often used in the cases where only one tooth is missing and the patient has very good oral hygiene. The bridge is a false tooth fused between two porcelain crowns to fill the empty area.

Advantages of Dental Bridges:

  • - Dental bridges are natural in appearance
  • - As long as they are maintained properly, bridges can last upto ten years
  • - The bridging procedure is easy and relatively fast
  • - Bridges can help to prevent gum diseases

What is Involved in the Bridging Procedure?

The dentist introduces a mild local anaesthetic into the area before trimming a portion of the teeth on either side of the space to allow for the crown. A temporary bridge will be put in place while a mould of your teeth is sent to the laboratory for your permanent bridge to be made.

On your second appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed and replaced with the permanent bridge. The new bridge will be adjusted and then cemented to your teeth.
