Chipped or Cracked Tooth

Chipped teeth are usualy a result of some form of trauma. If you have a chipped tooth but are not experiencing any pain, it is not usually an emergency. However, you must be very careful while eating and brushing to prevent the tooth from being damaged further. Make an appointment with us at your earliest convenience to have the tooth fixed.

A cracked tooth is an indication of damage to the internal and external structure of your tooth. You should contact the dentist immediately to have the tooth checked even if you are not experiencing any pain. In most cases dentists are able to save cracked teeth but in some severe cases this may not be possible. Below are some steps you can follow in case of such an emergency:

  • Rince the area with warm water
  • If this is a result of trauma, you can apply ice to reduce the swelling
  • If you are experiencing pain take acetaminophen

In case of any emergency, please call our office immediately
